To do

Just leaving this here so I can recall later

Health:
1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
4. Live with the 3 E’s - Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy
5. Play more games.
6. Read more books than you did in 2009.
7. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
8. Sleep for 7 hours.
9. Take a 10-30 minutes walk daily. And while you walk, smile.

Personality:
10. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
11. Don’t have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
12. Don’t over do. Keep your limits.
13. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
14. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip.
15. Dream more while you are awake.
16. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
17. Forget issues of the past. Don’t remind your partner with his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
18. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don’t hate others.
19. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.
20. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
21. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
22. Smile and laugh more.
23. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Society:
24. Call your family often.
25. Each day give something good to others.
26. Forgive everyone for everything.
27. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
28. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

Life:
31. Do the right thing!
32. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.
33. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
34. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
35. The best is yet to come.
36. Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy.

Loves It

I think Ferguson is hilarious. I'll miss him when school starts up again. In the mean time I can watch this and smile... and sing along.

You Know What Really Grinds my Gears...

I wish that when I asked a question from a person, they would give me an answer - even if they answer may not be what I want to hear. You don't have to sugar coat it, it would just be nice to get the answer, especially when I'm making plans around it. This seems to be happening to me a lot lately. I end up switching things around or trying do something, and then it ends up being a waste of time. I doubt anyone reads this... but if you do and think this blog refers to you... it might, but not just you. Like I previously wrote, this seems to be happening to me a lot lately.

And that has been: You Know What Really Grinds my Gears...

Celeb Obsession

I'll be the first to say I'm a part of this celeb obsessed world. I read Perez, glance at the tabloids in line, every now and then tune in the E! channel. So of course with news that Michael Jackson (AND Farrah Fawcett-talk about stealing someones thunder) dying all these different medias are going ape shit. But I can't help but be cynical and annoyed when I read people all of a sudden caring.

1) These people have never met the celebrities. Yes, I understand perhaps they made some type of impact on you tv, radio or even dare I say life, but where were all these so called 'friends/fans' when Jackson was being a fucking WACKO or Fawcett's family was either getting pulled over for DUIs or being slapped around? Those people were laughing at the late night jokes and judging, not caring. All of a sudden the celeb dies, and we pretend like they weren't the butt of jokes for the past two decade.
2) Is it really necessary to pretend you care? I can't tell you how many statuses on Facebook or people on Twitter were mentioning Jackson had died. God forbid I get my news from an actual news source, but I have to read about how everybody is so upset on social networks!?! You people, reread number 1.
3) (And this completely includes myself. I need a dose of my own medicine.) We all need to stop caring about celebs. Perhaps it's because we dream about the luxuries their life holds, or the idea of fame. Maybe it is because we don't have our own royal family or seeing people on the big screen makes us feel like we already know them. Maybe it's because we know anything filmed long enough will result in disaster ie Jon & Kate + 8. I feel that our culture has officially devolved as we continue to renew reality shows like The Hills or American Idol. All they do is prove that Americans are boring and dumb. Why do talentless people try out for American Idol? Do they really think they have something that millions of America would vote for? Bad example seeing as millions voted for W, twice mind you. And somebody just shoot The Hills cast. Why if I watch any morning news program Speidi shows up? Why must we give that horrible couple a nickname? I hope a paparazzi runs over them.

In conclusion I think many many Americans are dumb, or at least heading towards brain mush. Our priorities are all over the place, mine included. I can't point out countries on a map, tell you the members on the supreme court, I don't even remember what I learned in Algebra. What I can do is tell you what channel the Soap network is while buying dvds online instead of reading a book and later going on facebook and become frustrated over people who feel that they needed to mention dying celebs in their social network status. My priorities needs to change. Our priorities need to change. This celeb obsession/fandom is ridiculous. And perhaps my biggest downfall: When all is said and done, and I don't feel like working my brain, I'll most likely watch a rerun of old school 90210. Over and out.
